Harvest Clock maintains a list of all of the iPhones connected to it and keeps track of how many records each one has, how much battery power they are using, where they are at, and other information about how they communicate with the network.
When an iPhone initially registers, we add it to the list of devices. We maintain a single list of the name, when it was last seen, who was using it, etc. Every time a payroll ticket is generated or every once in a while when the app is on, we send and collect additional information about battery status and the communications method that's used to get to the network. We use that historical information to diagnose battery issues, weak cell phone coverage, etc.
If you want to see a map of the Devices connected to Harvest Clock, click on 'Map View' at the top fo the screen. You can click on any Device and see / edit details about it.
If you want to view detailed data or edit specific information about a Device, click 'View'. Anything that you change in that screen will be immediately changed on the iPhone if it's connected or at the next time that it's connected. If you want to see a history of battery / communications usage, click on 'History' of any device and it will bring up diagnostic data. Within the diagnostic screen, if you want to see where the iPhone is at when the data samples are taken, you can click Map View and see a trail.
Here are the fields that you can edit about a device.
The device name is the actual iPhone name. If you have several iPhones it will be easier to name and label them. You can go to 'Settings -> General -> About' in the iPhone and click name. Once you change the name here, and start Harvest Clock again the name will be updated.
The user is the current user of the iPhone.
The location is the current location that the user is working.
Allow Manual Entry
Allow manual entry is a feature that allows you to manually type on the iPhone instead of forcing you to scan an ID from a barcode. We enable this by default, because most people who sign up don't have a barcode to scan. When you actually put the software into action in the field and when your employees have ID badges, you'll probably want to turn this off to prevent incorrect entries.
Unit type is the kind of work that Harvest Clock is recording. Currently Harvest Clock only supports Piece Rate but we've added this as something new to come later.
This is the name of the unit being harvested.
Price Per Unit
This the current price per unit that is getting paid to employees.
This turns on/off the receipt printing function of Harvest Clock. When it's on, Harvest Clock tries to print a receipt for every ticket. When it's off, it doesn't offer to print a receipt with every ticket.
Print Backup allows the iPhone to print a backup of the records that were recently generated on paper, so if your iPhone gets ran over and you didn't have a network connection, you don't loose all of the payroll data.
Record for Backup
The record for backup is the number of records required before a backup print is printed. For example if this was set to 5, then every 5th receipt would print a backup. If this was set to 10, then every 10th record with print a backup.
This number is easy to edit, unless you are using the 'Print Summary on Max count' function in your unit. If you have this enabled, then it prints a summary print every time a Bin / Label is filled up, instead of using the backup print number.
